Because that’s how strongly we feel about protecting your head! GMTMA will be at the Trenton Boys & Girls Club Bike Exchange giving away FREE helmets (while supplies last!) to anybody who purchases a bicycle between 1:30 and 4:45pm. The Bike Exchange, which donates all proceeds of its sales to the Boys & Girls Club, has a large selection of good quality, low cost used bikes for all ages and skill levels. All bikes are reconditioned and ready to ride. The Bike Exchange is in the Capitol Plaza Shopping Center at 1500 N. Olden Ave. in Ewing and is easily accessible by NJ Transit bus # 606.

Did you know that in New Jersey, anyone under 17 years of age that rides a bicycle or is a passenger on a bicycle, or is towed as a passenger by a bicycle must wear a safety helmet? And ALL bicyclists are strongly encouraged to wear a helmet, regardless of age. Each year, bicyclists are killed or injured in New Jersey due to bicycle crashes. Many bicycle deaths result from bicycle-motor vehicle collisions. However, injuries can happen anywhere, including parks, bike paths and driveways, and often do not involve motor vehicles. Head injury is the most serious injury type and the most common cause of death among bicyclists. The most severe injuries are those to the brain that cause permanent damage.
