Transportation has always been more than movement. It represents access, opportunity, safety, and freedom. Throughout history, Black innovators, engineers, and civil rights leaders have shaped the systems that connect our communities, often overcoming significant barriers.
This Black History Month, Greater Mercer TMA recognizes the visionaries whose ingenuity improved roadway safety, advanced engineering excellence, strengthened environmental sustainability, and expanded equitable access to public transportation. Their contributions continue to influence how we design infrastructure, operate transit systems, and create safer streets today.
By reflecting on their impact, we honor the past while reaffirming our commitment to building an inclusive, innovative, and accessible transportation network for all.
